44,000 sq. ft. building housing Administrative areas, classrooms, multi-tiered briefing room, maintenance areas, storage areas, operation areas and interior – cast in place – concrete storm shelter. Contract design demanded a high quality and high level of interior finishes.
The building itself consisted of heavy concrete foundation, structural steel framing, metal stud framing, extensive drywall finishes including arched corridors, extensive ceramic tile work, custom millwork, custom casework, bathrooms, locker rooms, carpeting, resilient flooring, exposed sealed interior concrete, PA system, fire alarm system, fire protection system, and a sophisticated DDC controlled HVAC system. Two story building housed multiple mechanical, electrical, communication and flammable storage areas. Building exterior consisted of brick veneers, exterior insulated finish system areas (EIFS), aluminum windows and standing seam metal roof system (SSMRS). Site work included extensive underground utilities, 75,000 sq. ft. asphalt pavements, 23,000 sq. ft. concrete pavements, 14,000 sq. ft. concrete sidewalks, extensive landscaping, sodding and full underground sprinkler system.
